Pastor E.A. Adeboye fondly called Daddy G.O. announces that he will be stepping down as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
It was with great shock to the congregation of all RCCG Pastors and ministers received the announcement of the General Overseer of RCCG Pastor E.A. Adeboye that he will no longer be general overseer. He immediately announced the new overseer as Pastor J.O Obayemi, Pastor J.F Odesola as secretary and Pastor J.O. Adeyokunnu as the new treasurer.
The announcement was made during the church’s annual thanksgiving held at the 3km by 3km new auditorium today 7th January 2017. He requested that the congregants pray for the new leadership after which he also pronounced blessings upon them.
Pastor E.A Adeboye stated that a law was given by the government that general overseers can only serve for a stipulated time. He assures members to be at peace. He said the law was because General Overseers have too much influence.
Pastor Adeboye who was ordained as General Overseer (most senior pastor) of RCCG in 1981 affirms that the new GO, Pastor Obafemi will not stop him from carrying out this functions or drive him away from the camp.
As spiritual, Adeboye will still be allowed to conduct RCCG’S ‘Holyghost’ services as well as visit RCCG churches.
